Gemius received two nominations from IAB Europe for its internet research solutions. 
The nominations are for its daily data production methodology, presenting websites day to day (gemiusOvernight), and its methodology allowing for the presentation of data on online browsing frequency on PCs at home and in the office (Home [&] Work Multilocation Model).
‘This is a great day for our company and all its employees, who have worked very hard to reflect the online world in the data we provide to our clients,’ proudly says Piotr Ejdys, Gemius CEO.

Piotr Ejdys adds that both of the distinguished projects are operating in more than just theory. ‘We implemented the online browsing frequency data by location, i.e. home and office, in Belgium as part of the official internet survey, which is the standard internet measurement on the Belgian market, and in Poland. We provide daily day-to-day data to the clients here, as well. The IAB Europe nominations guarantee that our clients are receiving the top quality,’ Ejdys notes.

The results of the contest will be revealed at the Interact conference on 12 May. In the category of best internet research solutions, Gemius is competing with Spotify, MindTake Research, and comScore.

This is not the first time Gemius has been recognised at the IAB Research Awards. Last year, the company was victorious in the same category it was nominated for today. It received the statue for its methodology that allows publishers to see their full online reach across all devices (Behavioural Panel Synthesis, BPS).

In a contest organised by IAB Europe, Gemius was awarded first prize in the category of internet audience research.
Its winning project enables publishers to determine their total range across all devices (Behavioral Panel Synthesis, BPS).
Piotr Ejdys, president of Gemius, underlines that the IAB Europe Research Award is further proof of how rapidly the company is developing its offer and increasing the range of its influence. ‘In May 2014, we expanded the scope of our activities to include the analysis of internet traffic on individual devices (referred to as „multiplatform analysis”). This solution has already been implemented in 10 countries, including Denmark, Belgium and Turkey. In April this year, we introduced a new quality to the field of internet research – a method of behavioral synthesis that was awarded by IAB Europe,’ says Ejdys.

Gemius’ plans
Last year, Gemius won the tender to conduct a study of the internet in Belgium and Luxemburg. The company was also, once again, chosen to be the official supplier of internet traffic data in the Czech Republic. And despite losing this year’s tender in Denmark, Gemius continues to press ahead and is, among others, preparing to revolutionise the Polish market. From July, customers in Poland will receive daily information on website audiences. Gemius has also established cooperation with leading research companies, ie. Nielsen and Millward Brown. In a joint effort, they aim to combine the analyses of internet, TV, radio and press to establish a single base of multimedia data.

Gemius become the official audience research provider in Belgium and Luxembourg.
Belgium, with internet penetration estimated at 75 per cent, and Luxembourg, where over 80 per cent of residents use the internet on a daily basis*, are now becoming the 35th and 36th countries where Gemius conducts audience research (gemiusAudience). The contract has been in force since April and will last for two years, with possible prolongation. Centre d'Information sur les Médias (CIM), the Belgian Joint Industry Committee, has chosen the new measurement partner without a tendering process.

Gemius conducts an international internet study (gemiusAudience) in more than 30 countries. Gemius has been chosen the official provider of internet research in the Czech Republic. The contract was signed for two years, with possible prolongation for another two. It becomes enforceable in January 2015. Gemius has been measuring the Czech in
Sdružení Pro Internetovou Reklamu (SPIR), the Czech industry organization taking care of the online market development in the Czech Republic since 2000, has selected Gemius, together with Mediaresearch, as the official provider of the internet market measurement services. This means that the research conducted by the Polish company – In cooperation with the Czech research agency – will remain the source of information on website traffic for publishers, advertisers, advertising agencies and media houses in this country. The selection was made in course of a tender.

The Czech market victory is yet another international success of Gemius, which is celebrating its 15th birthday this year. In April, the company commenced internet research in Belgium and Luxembourg, last year it entered the Kazakh market and won tenders in Denmark, Turkey and Hungary again.

The Czech internet research conducted by Gemius in collaboration with the research agency Mediaresearch is known under the name NetMonitor (globally the research is referred to as gemiusAudience), and it is now being carried out in over 35 countries in the EMEA region (Europe, North Africa and Middle East). The aim of the research study is to define the number and demographic profiles of internet users and analyse the way in which they utilize the web. It has been recently extended with measurement of traffic coming from mobile applications (Israel, Latvia and Hungary) as well as audio and video materials audience measurement (Bosnia and[nbsp] Herzegovina, the Czech Republic, Israel, Lithuania, Poland, Turkey, Hungary). At present, Gemius is[nbsp] adding another functionality to the research: online traffic measurement with consideration of multichannelling, which is already available on the Danish market. The research is conducted in keeping with the international code of conduct ICC/ESOMAR.

SPIR (Sdružení Pro Internetovou Reklamu, the Association for Internet Advertising) is a Czech Joint Industry Committee. It associates 60 companies, the largest providers of advertising space and sponsors of internet advertising, engaged in online advertising in the Czech Republic. According to the NetMonitor research* (March, 2014), in the Czech Republic the internet is used by nearly 96 per cent of the population (age: 18 – 69).
